≪ Previous: EG's Journey For A Cure Continues in 2015

She is strong

With the Badwater 135 rapidly approaching, training is in full swing which means more time running which means more time thinking. It's been just over 7 years since we started our Journey For A Cure and together we have run many thousands of miles and raised nearly $600,000 for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. Anyone who has ever discussed running with me may find it strange that I always refer to our efforts as "we". After all I am the one doing all the work right? Wrong. I just do most of the running. Most of the work is done by my wife and partner in all things that are our life, Tani. She remains quietly behind the scenes doing whatever needs to be done, without complaint or self interest.

And easy on the eyes:)

I think it is important that everyone knows who the real head of the operation is. Tani is a friend, wife, mother, homemaker, shrink, motivator, crew chief and full time supporter of all that I do. Tani along with all of our significant others give us the time and peace of mind to run, ride, swim or paint whatever your masterpiece is. Our support team cares for our children, washes our nasty cloths and encourages us to push ourselves even if it means more time at home alone while worrying if we are OK. Let's be honest, they crush it every day for us. Actually it goes beyond that and we should let them know how grateful we are. I am so appreciative of all the kind words I hear almost daily for my efforts, but everyone needs to recognize who the true superstar is. It's Tani who makes it all possible. So I thank you Tani for sharing the dream with me. Without you, our Journey to do our part to find a cure would be impossible.

To all of our friends and supporters, next time you have the chance please tell Tani how much you appreciate all that she does for our Journey, because she deserves it. Her efforts are immeasurable.
